Chris is one of the winners in the 1996 Jazziz Magazine Guitars on Fire contest. His song Different Strokes was featured on their CD which showcased the winners of that competition.
His first CD, Territorial Imperative received extensive airplay on US radio stations, was featured on Ramsey Lewis' syndicated radio program, and was eventually released on Vital Records label in Europe and Asia.
Chris came to the New Orleans area in 1995, and led the Treasure Bay All Stars, the dance group Clean Machine, and the expanded version of that group, Music Machine. The groups enjoyed long running jobs at the Grand Casino, Treasure Bay, The President, Casino Magic, and The Copa casinos.
