Welcome to Chris Cortez

Chris Cortez is a guitarist, vocalist, band leader, concert promoter, and record label owner living in Orlando, Fl.

As a recording artist, he's been featured in the international press including: Downbeat, Jazziz, Jazz Times, All About Jazz, Jazzreview.com, Jazz Improv , and Le Jazz Hot Paris magazines. His discography includes 25 CDs as a leader, sideman, and/or producer.  His most recent CD (Aunt Nasty) received rave reviews and enjoyed 6 months of heavy airplay on Sirius XM's Real Jazz channel. Noel was also featured prominently on Sirius/XM as one of their favored Christmas CDs of 2013.

As accomplished as he is as a guitarist, Chris is also an excellent vocalist.

Chris performs solo, as a duo with an upright bass, or with his trio featuring both drums and bass. Any of the combinations can be expanded to include keyboards, sax, trumpet, and/or Latin percussion. Clients may specify casual, business, or formal attire.

Chris' record label Blue Bamboo Music, supports a dozen artists, and is currently building a performing arts center in Winter Park, Fl. He is a voting member of the NARAS (Grammys).
